John-John

Yikes... just typing the name brings back "icky" feelings that I remember as a bratty little brother. It was a very long time ago, but I vaguely remember pleading with my sister; "Please... Please don't name him JOHN-JOHN. 

Why not leave it at John? Yeah, John is a good name for a boy dog. But, "John-John" just isn't right! That is a sissy name and he will grow up to be a sissy dog, and everyone will laugh at him and us too!

John-John was an extremely cute Pekinese puppy that had a perpetually oblivious, happy-all-the-time grin on his face. You know... like Garfield the Cat's Ode.  He had a long, flowing, golden-yellow coat, and he pranced around with his fully dressed tail curled forward in a proud salute.

Penny the Dachshund or Cujo’s Mini-Me?

Close your eyes and breathe slowly... deeply. You are warm and relaxed, and you are floating effortlessly. I am with you, holding your hand, leading you back through time. We are almost there.

Open your eyes now, and see that it is dark. We are drifting toward a blue light ahead of us and the darkness is melting away. The blue light begins to swirl, wrapping around us until it fills the sky above our heads. It is late afternoon of a mid-summer day, sometime around 1964.

We are standing on green grass, near the back side of a big two-story house. Two igloo-shaped woodpiles are on our right, and a tall hedge stands behind us along a narrow sidewalk. It leads to a white garage just a few steps away.

I've had a Furry Life.

There are people in this world, who have for whatever reason, never had much contact with animals large or small. In fact, there are people who have never had any contact with animals at all. What a mystery these creatures must seem.

Here's a question that is perplexing about our little furry friends, especially when the question is so difficult to answer about humans. Is there an afterlife for animals, or are they little more than "Meat Robots", put on Earth to entertain those whom God created in His image?
